Mountain Biking Club

“We can finally ride as a group, not just near each other.”

Mike leads a 12-person mountain biking club that runs weekly trail rides across the Lake District. For years, keeping the group together on unfamiliar routes meant constant stopping, shouting across terrain, or losing riders at junctions. On longer descents, the faster riders would reach the bottom and wait — sometimes for ten minutes or more — with no way of knowing whether the rest of the group had taken a wrong turn or just needed more time.

They started using DigamE on a group ride last spring. Within minutes of setting up a shared MESH channel, Mike could call a trail split from the front without slowing down, and the sweep rider at the back could flag if anyone needed to stop — without the whole group grinding to a halt. On technical sections, riders could warn each other of obstacles ahead in real time. On long climbs, someone could let the group know they needed a breather without the embarrassment of waving everyone down.

The difference wasn’t just practical — it changed the feel of the whole ride. Conversations flowed naturally between riders who’d previously only been able to chat at rest stops. Navigation decisions became collaborative. The group rode with a confidence they hadn’t had before.

“It completely changed how we ride together. We’re not stopping every ten minutes to regroup. Everyone can hear the plan, ask questions, and stay connected — even when the trail splits. It’s made our rides smoother, safer, and honestly a lot more fun.”

The club now runs DigamE on every group ride. New members are handed a unit at the start and are communicating within seconds. Mike keeps a small stock specifically for guests joining the group for the first time.

DigamE was developed for the people who can't afford communication to fail — riders, crews, teams, and groups who operate in the real world, not on a Wi-Fi network. We wanted something that works immediately, needs no technical setup, and is tough enough to keep up.
